The World’s Ultimate Golf Prize

Dubai World Championship is taking place this weekend its one of the most challenging new course in a larger-than-life city that has captured imaginations far and wide, the best in the sport will go head-to-head, seeking the world’s ultimate golf prize.
The winners of The Championship will share the US $7.5 million purse; those finishing in the top 15 on The Race to Dubai will split the US $7.5 million bonus pool. Over four days, with no cut, all 60 players will compete for the title in the world’s newest signature sporting event.
The players will tee off on the spectacular Earth course. Designed by Greg Norman, Earth is one of the four courses that anchor new neighbourhoods in Jumeirah Golf Estates, which have been designed by a dream team that includes Vijay Singh, Sergio Garcia and the father of modern-day golf course design, Pete Dye.
With millions of golf fans around the world watching, both on television and on the course, the Dubai World Championship will shift the epicentre of golf towards Dubai — and will be one of the most memorable sporting events of 2009
