Spanish Property Market – is it time to buy?

Whilst indeed the press reports are correct, the Spanish property market has started to whirr back into motion, it remains highly price sensitive, it’s now a buyers and investors market and this is the time to buy: only if the price is right will the property sell but in time should render great financial gains. With many top economists predicting a steady increase from 2010 onwards, this could be the time to invest in Spain.

Phillip Brown, Director of the Bentley International real estate company, comments:

“I can cite a recent example to emphasise the point. We had a resale beachside townhouse at Campoamor, which is set on the beautiful costa blanca, it was priced at 180,000 euro’s but after consulting with a motivated vendor they reduced the property to 150,000 euro’s.

“They conducted an open day on an October Saturday and, of the five Spanish couples who attended, one put down 1,000 euro’s in cash and has since paid a full 3,000 euro deposit. We could have sold this three bedroom property to three of the potential buyers, no question.

“This is incredible as their initial sales price in 2007 was 285,000 euro’s, a discount of 42%. With an e-campaign to our database and another open day we are confident we can sell plenty more.”
